What I hope to get out of this course is a better understanding of writing in general and who I am as a writer. I also hope to be able to get more practice writing creative fiction and stories and learning about the exploits of past writers who've been in my position. I hope to get the experience I need to be successful as a writer once I get out of college and to convey to readers all the cool ideas I've been spinning in my head since childhood but with through the hand of a mature young man.

To me, writing is...

To me, writing is a venue for unloading all my thoughts and feelings onto paper so that they may be enjoyed by others as much as I enjoyed thinking of them. It's a cathartic experience, especially for a mind such as mine that never stops thinking, never stops creating, never stops going over that one plot point that sounds cool or doesn't make sense. Writing works as an extension of my imagination, one of my best attributes, and helps me to create worlds that I can shape and morph to my own will. And with power like that, who wouldn't write?
